CCCNZ trustees, members, and staff gathered to acknowledge God’s faithfulness and work in strengthening the movement as they looked back on 2025.
The CCCNZ Annual General Meeting took place on Wednesday 19 August at the Life Centre in Hania Street, Wellington (part of The Street Church premises).
After minutes from the previous year were adopted by the meeting, CCCNZ’s Board Chair, Chris Broadbent, introduced the theme of the 2025 Annual Report, ‘Stronger Together’ as a reflection of both the heritage and the calling of the CCCNZ Service Trust.
“CCCNZ exists to serve autonomous churches of Open Brethren Heritage—equipping, connecting, and encouraging them so that the gospel of Jesus Christ continues to be proclaimed faithfully from the Scriptures, generation-to-generation.”
Chris acknowledged that 2025 was a transitional year—thanking outgoing Ambassador Mark Grace for his foundational work with the trust and welcoming the leadership of CEO Roger Osbaldiston.
Picking up on the theme of strengthening churches, Chris highlighted the Eldership Development Workshops—run by Peter Lemmon and CCCNZ Regional Enablers—and the growing connection among Open Brethren Heritage trusts and ministries—GC3, Pathways College of Bible and Mission, NZ Rally, Stewards’ Trust, and Te Maru Christian Camps—that exists to serve the network of churches.
Chris finished his report by thanking the CCCNZ Board, staff and volunteers, and funding trusts.
“As we look ahead, we do so with confidence in the Lord who builds His Church. May we continue to run the race set before us with endurance, eyes fixed on Jesus, supporting one another, and pointing people to Him, through the gospel from the Scriptures.”
CEO Roger Osbaldiston then presented his report, with reference to Acts 16:5— “‘So the churches were strengthened in the faith, and grew daily in numbers.’ This remains our prayer and vision for our movement—that our churches around the nation would be strengthened in their faith and growing daily.”
Roger highlighted ways the movement has grown and developed during 2025, along with three strategic priorities the CCCNZ network will continue to focus on as it grows stronger together:
The Gospel for Every Person
A Church for Every Community
Leaders for Every Church
Roger also thanked the CCCNZ Board, staff team, funding trusts and church leaders:
“I am incredibly grateful for the work of CCCNZ churches and their elders and leaders, and the work of the CCCNZ Board and Staff Team. We are supported by some godly and gifted leaders. I also want to extend our heartfelt thanks for the support of several trusts and individuals, especially that of Lichfield Lands Inc. and Hillview trusts. We would not be able to do what we do without your ongoing commitment to our movement.
“There is a famous phrase that says; ‘it takes a village to raise a child.’ I believe that it also takes all of us—churches, leaders, trusts, and ministries—working together into this next decade, confident that we can be ‘stronger together.’”
Finance Committee Co-Chair Rick presented the Performance Report for the year ending 31 December 2025 (unaudited).
The meeting voted to adopt the Annual Report and the Performance Report (subject to the auditing process), and to appoint BDO Audit to audit the Financial Statements for the year ending 31 December 2026.
The meeting concluded with prayer, thanking God for His provision and faithfulness.
