Elders and developing elders gathered in Wellington on 9–10 October and Manawatū on 30–31 October for the CCCNZ Eldership Development Workshops, providing opportunities for learning, discussion and encouragement across the Lower North Island.
The workshops explore the call, character and commission of elders, taking a closer look at what it means to serve and oversee the church.
Participants appreciated the depth of the teaching and its connection with the realities of eldership.
There was also value in having intentional time together as local eldership teams. The table discussions provided useful opportunities to work through ideas, share perspectives and reflect on their responsibilities together.
Meeting others from churches across the region was another highlight, with participants appreciating the chance to make connections and learn from one another.
These regional gatherings are part of CCCNZ’s ongoing investment in healthy elderships, creating space for current elders and those preparing to serve to grow in their understanding of spiritual leadership and encourage one another in caring for Christ’s church.
