PASTORLINK
RETREAT 2025

A retreat for all full and part-time paid pastoral staff and their spouses from CCCNZ/Open Brethren heritage churches.
PastorLink Retreat is a chance for pastors and their spouses to relax, unwind and be fed from God's Word together. The retreat is open to all paid pastoral staff and their spouses who are currently serving in a CCCNZ / Open Brethren Heritage church.
If that’s you, then we would so love you to join us for a time of rest and refreshment and to be spiritually encouraged.
Meet our 2025 speaker,
Marcus Honeysett
After postgraduate studies in Postmodern Philosophy, Marcus worked for UCCF (part of IFES), including leading their team in London. Today, he is Director of Living Leadership, which provides training and pastoral nurture for Christian leaders and spouses.
He is the author of multiple books, most recently: Powerful Leaders – When Church Leadership Goes Wrong and How to Prevent It. His passion is preaching about grace and encouraging church leaders to abide in Jesus.
Marcus is married to Ros, a teacher, and they have a football-mad 11-year-old who keeps Marcus on his toes.

Whether you are in a leadership role or in a position to hold leaders accountable, Marcus' latest book will challenge and equip you to better understand the dynamics of power. It will also empower you to take the necessary steps to create healthier church cultures where everyone can thrive.
As an understanding and awareness of abuse has grown, many revelations regarding church leaders misusing their power have emerged.
Maybe you've asked, how did the Church reach this point? Is there a way to address both individual and institutional failures to counteract the misuse of power and, more importantly, prevent it from happening in the first place?
You might also be interested in the downloadable pdf: Audit of Abuse of Power, a tool that allows you to audit your church or organisation.

Travel / Finances
It’s a national retreat, but we’re aware that cost can be a barrier for those travelling from the South Island – the good news is that we have subsidies available to help remove those barriers, so please contact Grant Birks to find out how we can help with that through the Pastoral Support Fund.

Registering a Group?
If you’re bringing a group of pastors, we recommend registering all at once so that your church receives one invoice.
MORE DETAILS:
Accommodation: Couples and families will be allocated a room together. Where possible, singles will be given their own room. Linen and towels are provided. If we max out the rooms available at MiCamp, you’ll need to book off-site accommodation, and we'll only charge you for food.
Children: Children under 5 years old are welcome at the retreat (children 2 and under can attend free of charge, while a 50% fee applies for children aged 3 to 5). There’s no specific kids programme, but they’re welcome to be part of all we’re doing 😊
'You find others who are dealing with similar type things that you're working through. It's really encouraging to be able to talk through those things.'
