Earlier this week Jan De Lange, CCCNZ National Advisor, along with Tim Hodge, CCCNZ South Island Regional Enabler, ran two Risk & Liability workshops in Invercargill.
These sessions addressed the changing Charity Services legislation and explored the four legal structures available for churches, weighing the pros and cons of each to help elders, deacons, and trustees consider appropriate responses for their own local churches.
It was wonderful to see leaders from Gore Christian Fellowship, Elles Road Bible Chapel, Southern Bible Fellowship, Rosedale Bible Chapel, and Edendale Christian Fellowship engaging with these important issues. In each case, and in many others, it’s encouraging to see churches working together to point people to Jesus, through the gospel from the Bible.

Jan comments:
"It was an honour to assist these Southland churches with updates around the legal governance aspect of church leadership, and it's encouraging to see teams grappling with the next steps in their own contexts."
