Last week, I wrote about the Bible Society UK’s recent report ‘The Quiet Revival’. It details that more than two million people have joined the UK Church over the last six years. Many of them are young adults.
I noted that something similar may be quietly happening here. Almost every week now our team are hearing of more and more baptismal services in churches in the CCCNZ/OBH movement.
Thank you, Lord, for what you are doing!
Baptisms at Hope Community Church
Hope Community Church also celebrated baptisms in the last few weeks. Pictured below are Damien, Rihanna, Margaret, and Dan being baptised.
Lead Pastor Daryl Bay writes:
“We’ve been so encouraged to see the Holy Spirit working in a number of people so far this year. Some coming to the realisation over time that following Christ means getting baptised, others coming with very fresh and deeply convicted faith.”
“Their simple, clear confessions of faith in Jesus have been a source of joy and encouragement for us all. Particularly cool to see the role that Life Groups have in discipling and forming them as followers of Christ. We pray, more, please, Lord.”
Baptisms at Hukanui Bible Church, Hamilton
Hukanui Bible Church is really excited after the baptism of three young adults last Sunday.
Pastor Dan Pettersen writes:
“Some very powerful and impactful testimonies of God working in their lives to get them to both the point of salvation and then wanting to publicly identify with Christ through baptism.
“A large number of friends and family also came, listened to the message of the gospel, and heard the testimonies of how Jesus made such difference.”
Baptism at Crossroads Church, Palmerston North
Last Sunday, Crossroads Church witnessed Leroy’s baptism in the morning service (pictured below).
Discipleship Pastor Isaac Pettersen comments:
“Leroy’s story over the past couple of months has been truly inspiring. After reconnecting with a couple from church he used to work for, he began attending our Alpha course about five weeks ago.”
“Since then, we’ve witnessed a profound transformation in his life. His openness to exploring faith and his commitment to personal growth have been remarkable”
Isaac concludes by saying:
“Just last Sunday, Leroy took the significant step of being baptised. It was a powerful moment for our entire church community, and his testimony resonated deeply with many.”
