Laura Hewett, Youth Pastor at Riccarton Community Church writes:
“What a privilege to see God move through 3,500 young people eager to encounter Jesus!
"Easter is about Jesus, and Easter Camp is about encountering the Risen Lord through late night toasties, early morning Milos, workshops, and worship gatherings where the youth of New Zealand gather with the brave leaders and parents willing to camp in the autumn weather for the sake of the kingdom.
"As an immigrant to New Zealand, I didn't grow up with this tradition, but I'm all in for the Holy Spirit movement across denominations as churches around the country gather together in the name of Jesus for the purposeful discipleship of youth.
"This year I had the honour of being included in the speaker line up as I shared a bit of my testimony of encountering God in the waiting. I've never been so humbled as when I listened to the roar of the body of Christ welcoming young people into our faith community as they responded to the invitation to follow Jesus.
"I love how the Church connects us all together as we seek and serve our amazing Saviour through the wild adventures of life. What a gift to mark Easter in this special Kiwi fashion."
