By Tim Hodge, CCCNZ South Island Enabler
Not every church in our movement has a pastor, but for those that do, PastorLink is a treasured annual conference of refreshment for pastors and their spouses. Held in Taupō on 12–15 August, it’s a time to step away from the responsibilities of home and ministry to rest, pray, and connect with others.
This year saw the largest team yet from the South Island. Dave Bosma (Grace Church), Mato, Anna and Jabari Kariuki (Halswell Community Church), along with a large group from Hope Community Church — Daryl and Julie Bay, Paul Denny, Mark and Kristen Fryer, Antoninette Irvine, and Steve Polglase — gathered with pastors and spouses from across Aotearoa. Together they enjoyed good food, the stunning views at MiCamp Taupō, deepening connections, and teaching centred on the joy of the Lord as the foundation for ministry.
Marcus and Ros Honeysett, from Living Leadership in the UK, were warmly appreciated not only for Marcus' teaching, but also for their prayerful encouragement of delegates.
Reflecting on his first time at PastorLink, Halswell pastor Mato Kariuki shared:
“It was wonderful to be so well refreshed. I enjoyed meeting others, delighted in the emphasis on the joy of the Lord, and loved being freed from daily responsibilities and expectations back home for a few days.”
