Heretaunga Community Church in Upper Hutt recently hosted the second annual Stand Firm Bible Conference, on the theme ‘Building on the Rock’. People came from Manawatū, Wellington, Wairarapa, and Hawke’s Bay to hear from God’s Word as Lew Meyer (New Lynn Community Church), Graham Ashby (Orwell Street Church) and Reuben Munn (Shore Community Church) preached, and Bex Chapman shared her testimony of God’s grace in her life.
HCC elder Hape Hauwhao says the time of worship and fellowship was such an encouragement: “The purpose of the conference is to encourage, empower and equip people to stand firm when the road gets tough. It was a real highlight seeing God’s Word have such an impact on their lives. I was personally encouraged by the reminder that the gospel is not just good news at conversion, but that it continues to transform and endure.”
