11 elders from Pakuranga Christian Fellowship, Manurewa Bible Church and Papatoetoe Bible Church gathered for breakfast one Saturday morning in August. Hosted by Pakuranga Christian Fellowship, chair of their elders Bruce Carr spoke from Proverbs 27:27 on “Iron sharpens iron”.
Papatoetoe Bible Church elder Alastair McNaughton, said the first combined elders breakfast served as an “ice breaker” for the elders to get to know each other better and they “hope there’s another one before long”.
Vijay Prasad reports good outcomes. The elderships have discussed how “to keep things going”. They seek to train young leaders and do combined outreaches together. “Two young people from each church will share at a wider men’s breakfast planned for 11 October” he said.
