Eldership Development Workshop
The CCCNZ Eldership Development Workshop is a biblically-grounded, highly interactive event designed for church eldership teams.
Unite your team around God’s Word, deepening your shared understanding of what it means to serve as a spiritually effective eldership in your local church.
Tailor-made to strengthen, encourage, and equip elders in their vital role as overseeing shepherds of God’s people, this workshop invests in the health and future of your church.

SAVE THE DATES
Come along and participate with all the other eldership teams in your region. Due to increased interest in Auckland, there are two date options to choose from.
All costs are fully covered by sponsorship, however churches are welcome to contribute to costs if able.
Please register your interest as soon as possible, there are only 50 places available per workshop.
All events are scheduled for the 2026 calendar year, with sessions running Friday evening and Saturday.
Can't make the dates in your region? If your group is willing to travel you can register your interest in attending a workshop outside of your local region.

WHO IS THE WORKSHOP FOR?
Entire eldership teams from CCCNZ / Open Brethren Heritage churches to attend together.
Both new and experienced elders are welcome.
An ideal workshop for including potential/developing elders.
Each workshop location has space for up to ten teams of elders, so make sure you secure your place and book in your team!
WHY COME TO THE WORKSHOP?
Spend a day and a half engaging in activities designed to help your eldership explore, refresh, and recommit to the key attributes of being a called and committed team of shepherd-overseers.
This workshop is facilitated by experienced CCCNZ Regional Enablers who also provide assistance and both pre- and post-workshop follow-up support to all participating teams.
Our prayer is that you'd gain a deeper understanding of eldership roles and responsibilities in order to faithfully serve your church.
Biblical Foundation and Key Topics
The content of the workshop is drawn entirely from Scripture, covering a range of important topics. These include eldership style and approach, as well as what it means to be fit for purpose according to Biblical standards.
Teams will engage in discussions about coping skills, Biblically-based spiritual governance, and effective methods for encouraging and evaluating church health both within the eldership team, and within the church.
Outcomes your team can expect from attending an Eldership Development Workshop:
A deeper understanding of your eldership as a group.
Appreciation for the essential biblical qualities and responsibilities of effective eldership shepherding.
Tools to develop actionable plans and ideas for enhancing areas of service within your local church.
An individual team plan (developed as part of the workshop) to guide further development activities your team returns home.
An opportunity to network with other eldership teams within your region and build lasting relationships with others who are on the same journey of service.
Facilitation, teaching and follow up support from experienced Regional Enablers.
The Eldership Development Workshop was prayerfully designed and produced in 2025. It was run as a pilot workshop with two cohorts of eldership teams from different CCCNZ churches, who recommended that this be offered more widely.
