CHEF - WILLOW PARK CHRISTIAN CAMP & CONVENTION CENTRE

Willow Park, situated in the beautiful suburb of Eastern Beach in Auckland has a vacancy in the Catering Department for the Role of Commis Chef.

This role offers a better work life balance than most Chef roles with base salary and rostered off every second weekend. Hours are typically but not limited to 6:30am – 15:00pm or 10:30am - 19:00pm

The successful candidate will be part of a small and experienced kitchen team.

This position will be directly responsible to the Head Chef / Catering Manager.

Objectives of the Position

To ensure the effective and efficient operation of Willow Park’s food preparation function in accordance with the agreed standards of both the Head Chef and the Director.

This role services the catering hospitality needs and requirements to the following Groups:

Christian Organisations including churches, para-church mission and non denominational groups.

Other organisations include Schools, Service Clubs, Business Groups, Travel Groups and other catering functions required.

Ideal applicant would be an advantage to have a minimum of 2 years relative cookery experience in a commercial kitchen.

Main Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

Preparation and Cooking of meals to a high and consistent quality and standard

Preparation and storing baking goods

Ordering stock when needed

General daily cleaning when needed

Meeting of general requests of the guests in the absence of the host

Receiving and packing of stock

Monitor and document and adhere to food safety guidelines set out by Chef

Candidate must be willing to undergo a hands on skills assessment,

and also be willing to undergo a Health Screening Check at the Cost of the employer.

Own transport is a must.

FACILITY / DUTY MANAGER - PACIFIC PARK CHRISTIAN HOLIDAY CAMP


Pacific Park Christian Holiday Park is seeking a highly motivated, skilled person to oversee all aspects of maintenance and upgrades to the facility and grounds as well as function as Duty Manager when rostered on or in the Managers absence.

Pacific Park is located in beautiful Papamoa Beach East only a short 2 minute walk from the beach and 20 min drive to Tauranga.

We are a Family Friendly holiday park with a variety of roofed accommodation from Motels to Villas and Group Lodges as well as 75 powered campsites and an 80 person Conference Facility.

Our goal is to provide a safe, friendly, fun atmosphere for individuals, families, ministry groups, school groups and sports teams from all over the North Island and abroad. INTERNSHIP 2022 - MICAMP

FULL-TIME LEAD ACTIVITY INSTRUCTOR / CAMP WORKER- MICAMP

MiCamp Trust is a group of 3 spectacular Christian Camps in the central North Island. The camps are in separate locations - Kakahi, Whakamaru and Waitetoko.

We have a motivated, dedicated staff team and are committed to using Christian Camping as a
tool for influencing people for the Kingdom of God.

We are looking for a vision-focused person who has a strong sense of calling to what God is
doing in their life. They need to understand that working at camp is a lifestyle, not just a job.

They will have a hunger to impact people rather than entertain them. The applicant will be a
team player, supportive and enthusiastic.

We are looking for someone with qualifications and/or training in outdoor leadership with
interests and experience in various outdoor pursuits. They need to have a proven record in
outdoor instructing. They must have a current, clean, full, NZ driver's license, their
communication skills must be excellent, and have strong computer skills, and a first-aid
certificate is necessary.

They will have relevant industry qualifications and come with a hunger to learn more. They will
need to be able to communicate with a wide variety of age groups in various ways. They will
need a good grasp of Health and Safety legislation and its practical ramifications. Along with
instructing activities, this person will need to be willing to help in all aspects of camp life.

FULL-TIME GROUNDS/MAINTENANCE & INSTRUCTOR - MICAMP

MiCamp Trust is a group of 3 spectacular Christian Camps in the central North Island. The camps are in separate locations - Kakahi, Whakamaru and Waitetoko.

This position would be based at MiCamp Whakamaru with occasional time working at the Taupo &
Kakahi sites. MiCamp Whakamaru is a remote yet stunning camp located on an island on Lake
Whakamaru. It has 85 bed capacity with a range of facilities and activities. Started in the early 1960s
the Camp holds a special place in the heart of many people and has an amazing history. We hope
the next person to join Micamp Whakamaru has a heart of camping and would be excited about
contributing to its history by the work they do here.

We are looking for a vision focused person who has a strong sense of calling to what God is doing in their life to join the staff team at MiCamp. They need to understand that working at camp is not just any ordinary job, it’s a lifestyle, a ministry of service and a calling. Onsite accommodation will be
available and access to all the perks that come with living at camp located on an island!

Some of the key things we are looking for in the applicant are:

  • a team player with our small Whakamaru team but also the larger MiCamp Trust team
  • experience with grounds and maintenance
  • interest or experience in outdoor instructing
  • the ability to work independently
  • great personal skills and communicate effectively for when instructing and hosting groups
  • a teachable heart

campsite and rely on each other to get the variety of jobs done!

MINISTRY DEVELOPMENT TEAM LEADER - TOTARA SPRINGS

This person will have self-awareness and undertake every challenge with a growth mind-set. They will spearhead the development and execution of our core holiday programmes, Family Camps, Easter Camp, Youth Holiday Camps and Leader Development Camps, with creativity and energy. They will be developing the Springs Internship programme.

If you have worked in a Christian camping organisation before and have experience in leading faith-based youth programmes and large events, then you will appreciate the challenges and opportunities involved. With a team of experienced Coordinators to lead and support, there is much to do. Your powers of persuasion, delegation and organisational skills will be tested. As a lead organiser for some of our major annual events, you will be a clear communicator providing insightful direction and pastoral care to the team and value the input of others.
